Last updated: 21 July 2026
These Terms and Conditions apply when you book or receive a treatment, purchase a gift voucher or package, or use services provided by Sarah Zacal Beauty.
Please read them before making a booking. By booking an appointment, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

Sarah Zacal Beauty is a private home salon operating by appointment only.
2. Appointments
Appointments to be booked via Sarah Zacal. Enquiries via the website, WhatsApp or Messenger. Appointments booked using SumUp and a booking confirmation is sent to the client.
Please check that your chosen:
-
treatment;
-
date;
-
time; and
-
contact details
are correct before confirming your booking.
Appointment availability may change, and Sarah Zacal Beauty cannot guarantee that a particular date or time will remain available until the booking is confirmed.
3. Treatment information
Treatment descriptions, prices and expected appointment lengths are shown on the website or booking system.
Treatment times are approximate and may include consultation, preparation, aftercare advice and payment time.
Sarah may adjust a treatment where reasonably necessary because of:
-
your consultation answers;
-
allergies or sensitivities;
-
contraindications;
-
patch-test results;
-
the condition of your skin or nails; or
-
health and safety concerns.
Sarah Zacal Beauty will provide services with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
4. Prices and payment
The price displayed when you book will normally be the price payable for the treatment.
Sarah Zacal Beauty reserves the right to update treatment prices. Any price change will not normally affect an appointment already confirmed unless:
-
the booking information contained an obvious pricing error;
-
the client changes the treatment; or
-
additional services are agreed during the appointment.
Sarah Zacal Beauty is a cashless business.
Accepted payment methods will be displayed through the booking or payment system or confirmed by Sarah.
Payment must be made at the time requested. Any outstanding cancellation fee must be paid before another appointment can be booked.
5. Deposits and advance payments
Some treatments, packages or appointments may require a deposit or full payment in advance.
The amount and payment deadline will be explained before the booking is confirmed.
Any deposit will normally be deducted from the final treatment price.
Deposits and advance payments remain subject to the Cancellation Policy and applicable consumer law. A cancellation charge should reflect the business’s genuine loss and should not be excessive. Government guidance states that businesses may generally retain only an amount reflecting losses directly caused by a cancellation and should take reasonable steps to reduce those losses.
6. Cancellations and missed appointments
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Where less than 24 hours’ notice is provided, a charge equal to 50% of the booked treatment cost may apply.
Missed appointments without notice may also be charged at 50% of the booked treatment cost.
Any outstanding charge must be paid before another appointment can be booked.
Full details are available in the separate Cancellation Policy.
7. Arriving for your appointment
Please arrive at your confirmed appointment time.
As Sarah Zacal Beauty is a private home salon with no waiting area, please do not arrive early unless this has been agreed in advance.
If no car is parked on the drive, clients may use the available space.
Clients are asked to remove their shoes on arrival. Spa slippers will be provided.
Please be aware that there are two flights of stairs leading to the beauty room. Contact Sarah before booking if this may affect your ability to access the salon.
8. Late arrivals
Please contact Sarah as soon as possible if you are running late.
A late arrival may result in:
-
the appointment being shortened;
-
part of the treatment being omitted; or
-
the appointment being rearranged
to avoid delaying the next client.
The full treatment price may still be payable where the appointment is shortened because of the client’s late arrival.
Where there is not enough time to provide the treatment safely or properly, the appointment may be treated as a late cancellation.
9. Consultation information
Clients must provide accurate and complete information when completing consultation forms or discussing treatment suitability.
This includes relevant information about:
-
allergies;
-
sensitivities;
-
medical conditions;
-
pregnancy;
-
medication;
-
previous reactions;
-
recent treatments; and
-
injuries or infections.
Please tell Sarah if any relevant information changes before a future appointment.
Sarah Zacal Beauty may refuse, stop or adapt a treatment where it would be unsafe or unsuitable to continue.
10. Patch tests
A patch test may be required before certain brow, lash, tinting or lifting treatments.
The patch test must be completed within the period specified by Sarah and before the treatment appointment.
A treatment may not proceed where:
-
the required patch test was not completed;
-
the client experiences a reaction;
-
information affecting suitability has changed; or
-
Sarah considers it unsafe to proceed.
The Cancellation Policy may apply where an appointment cannot proceed because the client did not attend or complete a required patch test.
11. Treatment results
Sarah Zacal Beauty will take reasonable care when providing every treatment, but individual results can vary.
Results may be affected by factors including:
-
skin or nail condition;
-
hair growth;
-
allergies or sensitivities;
-
lifestyle;
-
medication;
-
previous treatments;
-
home care; and
-
compliance with aftercare advice.
No specific result or duration can be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in writing.
This does not limit Sarah Zacal Beauty’s responsibility to perform services with reasonable care and skill.
12. Aftercare
Clients should follow the aftercare advice provided by Sarah.
Sarah Zacal Beauty cannot accept responsibility for problems caused by:
-
failing to follow aftercare advice;
-
using unsuitable products;
-
removing or altering treatment work at home;
-
receiving another treatment elsewhere; or
-
failing to disclose relevant information.
This does not exclude responsibility where the treatment itself was not performed with reasonable care and skill.
13. Allergic reactions and sensitivities
Even where a product has previously been used without difficulty or a patch test has been completed, an allergic reaction or sensitivity may still occur.
Contact Sarah promptly if you experience an unexpected reaction.
Seek appropriate medical advice where symptoms are severe, persistent or concerning.
In an emergency, contact the emergency services.
14. Children and young clients
Clients under 18 may require permission from a parent or legal guardian.
Some treatments may also have minimum-age restrictions because of:
-
product instructions;
-
insurance conditions;
-
treatment suitability; or
-
professional guidance.
Sarah may ask a parent or guardian to attend the consultation or appointment.
Sarah Zacal Beauty reserves the right to refuse a treatment considered unsuitable for a young client.
15. Children accompanying clients
Because the treatment room is within a private home salon and Sarah must concentrate on providing treatments safely, clients should avoid bringing children unless agreed in advance.
The client remains responsible for any child accompanying them.
Sarah may need to rearrange or stop an appointment if adequate supervision is unavailable or safety is affected.
16. Personal belongings
Clients remain responsible for their personal belongings while visiting the salon.
Sarah Zacal Beauty is not responsible for loss or damage unless caused by negligence on the part of the business.
Please take particular care with jewellery, phones, clothing and other valuable items.
17. Client behaviour
Sarah Zacal Beauty aims to provide a safe and respectful environment.
Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, inappropriate or unsafe behaviour will not be accepted.
Sarah may refuse or end an appointment where a client’s behaviour:
-
causes distress;
-
creates a safety risk;
-
is abusive or inappropriate;
-
damages property; or
-
prevents the treatment from being provided professionally.
Where an appointment is ended because of serious client misconduct, payment may still be required for the booked time or work already completed, where reasonable and lawful.
18. Refusing or stopping a treatment
Sarah Zacal Beauty may refuse, adapt or stop a treatment where:
-
the treatment appears unsuitable or unsafe;
-
a contraindication is identified;
-
the client has not provided required information;
-
a required patch test has not been completed;
-
the client appears unwell or has a contagious condition;
-
the requested treatment is outside Sarah’s professional scope;
-
the client’s behaviour is inappropriate; or
-
continuing could risk injury or damage.
Where possible, Sarah will explain the reason and discuss suitable alternatives.
19. Illness and contagious conditions
Please do not attend the salon if you have a contagious illness or infection that may put Sarah or other clients at risk.
Contact Sarah as soon as possible to discuss rearranging the appointment.
Sarah may refuse or stop a treatment if a contagious condition or other health risk becomes apparent.
20. Complaints and treatment concerns
Please contact Sarah as soon as reasonably possible if you are unhappy with a treatment.
Where practical, contact should be made within 48 hours of identifying the concern and before another therapist alters or removes the treatment.
Sarah may ask for:
-
photographs;
-
further information; or
-
an opportunity to inspect the treatment.
Depending on the circumstances, an appropriate resolution may include:
-
advice;
-
a correction appointment;
-
repeating part of the service;
-
a price reduction; or
-
a refund where legally required.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, remedies may be available where a service has not been performed with reasonable care and skill.
21. Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers are subject to any terms shown at the time of purchase.
Unless otherwise stated:
-
vouchers may only be used for eligible Sarah Zacal Beauty services;
-
vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash;
-
no cash change will be given;
-
lost or stolen vouchers may not be replaceable without proof of purchase;
-
appointments booked using a voucher remain subject to the Cancellation Policy; and
-
the voucher must be valid on the date of the appointment.
The expiry date and any restrictions must be clearly displayed when the voucher is sold.
22. Treatment packages
Treatment packages may be subject to:
-
an expiry date;
-
specified included treatments;
-
booking availability;
-
restrictions on transfer; and
-
the Cancellation Policy.
Package details will be explained before purchase.
Unused package value will be handled in accordance with the terms shown at purchase and applicable consumer law.
23. Offers and promotions
Offers and promotional discounts:
-
apply during the stated promotional period;
-
are subject to availability;
-
may apply only to specified treatments;
-
cannot normally be exchanged for cash;
-
may not be combined unless stated; and
-
may be withdrawn or corrected where an obvious error has occurred.
Any important restrictions will be explained clearly when the offer is advertised.
24. Online bookings and cancellation rights
Consumer cancellation rights may apply to certain contracts made online, by telephone or away from business premises.
For qualifying distance service contracts, the cancellation period is generally 14 days from the day after the contract is made. However, a consumer may expressly request that a service begins during that period. If the service is fully performed following that request and the required acknowledgement is given, the statutory cancellation right may end; if only part has been performed, a proportionate amount may be payable.
These statutory rights are separate from Sarah Zacal Beauty’s appointment Cancellation Policy.
Sarah should ensure that the Wix or SumUp booking process provides the required pre-contract information and consent wording where appointments can take place within 14 days of booking.
25. Website information
Sarah Zacal Beauty aims to keep website information accurate and current.
However:
-
treatment availability may change;
-
photographs are illustrative;
-
colours may display differently between devices;
-
treatment results vary between clients; and
-
occasional mistakes may occur.
Sarah Zacal Beauty may correct errors and update website content without notice.
26. External websites and booking providers
The website may link to external services, including Wix, SumUp, Instagram, WhatsApp and Google.
Sarah Zacal Beauty is not responsible for the content, availability or separate terms of websites operated by another organisation.
Bookings and payments made through an external provider may also be subject to that provider’s terms and privacy policy.
27. Personal information
Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Sarah Zacal Beauty Privacy Policy.
The website may also use cookies as explained in the Cookie Policy.
28. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility where doing so would be unlawful, including responsibility for:
-
death or personal injury caused by negligence;
-
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
-
breach of statutory consumer rights; or
-
services not provided with reasonable care and skill.
Contract terms cannot lawfully remove core consumer rights or impose an unfair imbalance on consumers.
Subject to those rights, Sarah Zacal Beauty is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses that were not reasonably contemplated when the booking was made.
29. Events outside reasonable control
Sarah Zacal Beauty is not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by events outside reasonable control, such as:
-
illness or emergency;
-
power, water or internet failure;
-
severe weather;
-
transport disruption;
-
government restrictions; or
-
failure of a booking or payment provider.
Where an appointment cannot proceed, Sarah will make reasonable efforts to contact the client and offer an alternative appointment or appropriate refund.
30. Changes to these terms
These Terms and Conditions may be updated to reflect:
-
changes to treatments;
-
changes in business practices;
-
changes to service providers; or
-
legal and regulatory requirements.
The version applying to a booking will normally be the version in force when the booking was made, unless a change is required by law.
31. Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute will be subject to the courts that have jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.
